Acting Governor Accompanies President Jokowi to Monitor Staples Prices at Palmerah Market

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono accompanied President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo to visit Palmerah Market, Central Jakarta, Monday (6/26).

The visit was aimed to check the prices of staple foods ahead of Idul Adha 1444 Hijri.

"We checked the prices of basic foodstuffs at several kiosks. Besides, we also spoke with several traders to hear their stories. If there are problems, we will follow up and find a solution," expressed Acting Governor, in the Jakarta Provincial Government press release.

Jakarta Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) has made various efforts to control inflation by taking into account the national inflation control policy.

"We will continue to monitor the price of chicken meat and other food ingredients through synergy with all parties, thus they can be controlled ahead of the holidays," he continued.

"I will check, maybe there is a problem with the supply," he admitted.

The increase in food prices is predicted due to limited supply or supply and an increase in demand that soars ahead of Idul Adha. During the visit, the President also provided assistance to traders at Palmerah Market.
